A Message from Pastor Matt
It is a great pleasure to serve with the church here in Warsaw! The past months have been filled with excitement and energy and I look forward to what God will continue to do in our community.
Let me take a few moments of your time to share some important thoughts with you:
1. If you haven't been to a church for a while or if you are afraid of feeling awkward, please know that we are a friendly bunch of people who work hard to welcome everyone. Don't let your past or your present situations keep you away. We believe that there is nothing that can separate humans from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:39). God loves the world...in fact the Bible says that God loves the cosmos (John 3:16)! Since you are part of the cosmos, you are part of our community already! Just come on in or let us know how we can meet you where you are.
2. Many churches view themselves as a place they want others to end up. However, we do not think of ourselves as a cool destination to come to (though we are pretty cool...at least my kids say so). Instead we want to be viewed as a hub, like an airport or train station. Since the vast majority of people will spend a very small percentage of their time in a church we want to help people be faithful followers of Jesus in the world. We certainly cherish our time together, but we (including me) go to work (I teach), raise kids (I have two), tend to grandchildren (ok...I don't have any yet, my kids are in grade school), and participate in activities that we are passionate about (have you been kayaking lately?). Life isn't about coming to church (though we do that), life is about living the love of Jesus fully where we are...and this my friends is a great experience.
If you have any thoughts or want to sit down and chat, please let us know!
